What does getting your teeth painted do?

im getting my teeth painted in september and i just want to know a bit more about what it does it do and wanted does the dentist do to you- does getting your teeth painted make them whiter

My Dentist calls it Varnish and I had it done last week, it is to protect and strengthen your teeth the stuff is spread on your teeth and set with a blue light and it doesn't taste very nice but it doesn't hurt.

It does not change the color.  It is supposed to help in not getting cavities.

dint forget,,,sand then undercoat
