I have just heard on telly that global warming is to become the biggest cause of death in UK.  Religion is also a huge cause of death.

...ive read articles about a pole shift and how the earth is shifting off its axasess right now and that the north and south pole will reverse..

thats why when whales beach themselfs its because the compass in there brain is off because the north and south are off so instead of going there usuall route they go off course...

however another thing i find interesting is the scientist say the pole shift is gonna cause majore catastroffic events...basicly the earth will flip upside down....

The insistence that there is one right way for things to be, and that it's terrible if things change at all. Earth's climate is always changing. Eventually there will be no glaciers, and at some point there will be another Ice Age. We go through cycles. Also, the failure to recognize anything but the negatives about change. For example, global warming is bad for some species, but you never hear that it is good for others. Any time climate changes, it is good for some species and bad for others. And climate change and species going extinct opens niche space for other species.

As an Australian I can say that it's denouncement as a load of bunkum by the authorities is a feature in common.  Thankfully this situation has now been rectified by the newly elected left wing government (they actually, finally, signed the Kyoto protocol).

At the last leg Little Johnny did finally admit that perhaps global warming was a concern (in the last week of the election campaign) but I bet that now he's been booted out of office his attitude has reverted to it's former "head in the sand" mentality.

I'm sorry that you feel the need to replace logic and discussion with this sort of emotional assertion.

Global warming is happening! Unless you think that all the meteorological organisations in the world are involved in some sort of conspiracy, then you will surely agree.  The issue is what is causing it and then depending upon your answer to that, what, if anything has to be done about.
