What does grease in warehouses consists of? Does it contain any heavy metals?

In a warehouse in which printing presses and other machinery is being constantly toated around by forklifts and loaded up into eighteen wheelers and such for shipment, what substances comprise the grease that is abound throughout the building interior?.....and might there be any lead, arsenic, etc. in it, or is it completely harmless?

  1. Industrial greases can have lithium in them and will also with with small amounts of whatever metals they are protecting, but other than that, they should be petroleum products (or sometimes castor oil, which is slightly poisonous) with mostly non metal additives.  In other words, the stuff is usually toxic if injected, but otherwise mostly harmless.


  2. I think it used to contain animal fat

    now it is probably free of heavy metals or toxin because we know better about those hazards now
