What does hair styling wax do?? PLZ HELPPP!!!?

i bought this Granier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Wax and i thought its like gel and i could scrunch my hair with it but it didnt work so i really dunno what styles i could do with it or what does it actually do if u can help me. also whats the difference between hair styling wax and hair gel. plz suggest me some styles i could do for school

wax and gel have two totally different consistencies.They both do about the same thing, you have to play around with them

Well if you are gonna scrunch your hair use mousse. But mostly it's used for spiking hair.

i use hair wax because it adds texture to  my hair, and gives me a wet look where the gel tends to give my hair a THIN look which doesnt look that good on me.

hair styling wax if for making your bangs and layers piecey and bold.

if you don't have layers and or bangs, I would not suggest using it.

Well, it's kind of hard to explain (but in my own personal opinion, I think gel is way better), but wax is more like a solid base, and would keep your hair from "falling apart" if you were to do some other style, but if you wanna scrunch, my best bet is to use the wax on the base of your hair (near the roots) and gel on the outside (where you want to begin scrunching, all the way to the end), and top it all off with some hairspray.  

I use this brand called Matrix (it's a tad expensive, but it's worth it; I use number "4") hairspray, and it's phenomenal.  

As for styles for school, look up on magazine websites; they're bound to have some fun, flirty hairstyles.  :)
