The weather forecast will give you the high and low for the day. Does this mean the high is the highest possible temperature for the entire day and the low is the lowest possible temperature for the entire day?

Or is low the highest possible temperature for night only?

I've been confused on this matter for a while.

I'll give an example: High 85/ Low 69

What do both of these temps mean exactly?

  1. highest and lowest temperature between 00:00:00 and 23:59:59 on any given day.

It doesn't matter WHEN the high and/or low occurs, it is within any 24 hour period or date/day.

it may be 85 degrees at 11:59PM
