What does highcut mean on a subwoofer?

i ordered a all in one sub woofer from jeep for my 02 liberty, really cool , it mounts under drivers seat, plugs right in to harness, it has two k***s one says VOLUME and the other says HIGHCUT what do they mean and how do i adjust them.

i would assume that k**b adjust what high frequencies it cuts out

if the k**b is down..higher frequencies would pass through, as you turn it up the higher frequencies should cut out so theres lower frequencies going to the sub
