  1. It depends on your school.  When I was in high school, we had to take drivers education before we could take drivers training.  Drivers ed was classroom-based.  We learned the rules and got a lot of information on safety.  Drivers training was the behind-the-wheel part.

  2. For the first couple of weeks, you sit around and do bookwork, and then you get taken outside, where you get practical experience.

    Easy, easy class.

  3. Driver education in high school taught me nothing. However, stealing my mom's car keys at night while she was sleeping to go joy riding with my friends taught me a lot.

  4. It gives you time in a simulator (usually) and time behind the wheel with an instructor.

Of course, what's really fun is to get an instructor who's starting to go a bit twitchy because they've risked their lives with student drivers more times than they can count...yep, good times.  (Can you tell who I took driver's ed from?  lol...)

  5. It teaches you what you need to know but some car insurance places offer discounts to teens if you took the coarse in school.

  6. well when I took driver's ed the first part of the year was reading the rules of the road manual, and books and tests about it, then the second half was getting behind the wheel of a simulator where they have this movie screen in front of you, and you're supposed to stop at all the places you have to stop in the movie, and accelerate and everything, then the last thing you do is get behind the wheel of a real car and practice with an instructor on a course.

  7. no you actully have to goto a class to learn how to drive duh!!!!

  8. yes you get behind the wheel experience.  you have both classes in a classroom and then lessons behind the wheel.
