What does hp I4 stand for?(cars)?

i look at a msn auto and see that next to the engine specification itll say something like this hp I4. i understand the hp stands for horse power. but what does the I4 stand for for example.

If the letter is an "I", the letter before J, it could stand for In-line 4 cylinder.
