"i.e." is an abbreviation for Latin "id est", usually translated to English as "that is".   It is sometimes thought, incorrectly, to mean "for example".  There is another abbreviation for that: "e.g.", for Latin "exempli gratia", which means "for the sake of example", or just  "for example".

As far as I know it means like "for example"
