What does imprint mean I'm still confused...?

I read where Jacob told Bella about imprinting about a million times and i still don't get it if it's not love♥ at first sight then what is it???

Its a bit difficult to explain but...basically, it's this force, you could say, that is much more stronger then love at first sight, which attracts both the girl and boy that were “meant to be” when they first entered into the world if they find each other.

its kind of like love at first sight, but its more like, you were meant to be together before you were even born. so when you do see each other, you know that that's the person you're supposed to be with.. or something like that.
