What does incest in a dream symbolize?

It was not a graphic dream, but I had a dream in which incest between a father and son was implicitly implied.

They were travelling on a boat (the water was choppy) and the son had to perform incest on his father otherwise the father would kill him. He kept the father on the lower part of the boat wear he slept most of the time and did not allow him to come up. There was always a fear that the father would kill the son, so he had to keep performing incestual acts to keep him in this sleeping state (I know this sounds really gross, but it was not shown in the dream).

The son kept looking in religious sources to find out how to deal with the situation.

At the end when the boat pulled to land, the son was a daughter.

This actually means that the father has affection, not in a sexual way toward the son, simply as a father would , giving care, concern, providing safety, shelter and security to his son, however, the son feels persecuted in some way by the father.  Looking at religious sources means that the son is trying to advance religiously.  There is no actual sexual relationship here, nor is their sexual persecution.  This son and the father do love each other as do father's and son's yet the son feels persecuted or over-supervised by his father. All will end well and calm will return though there is turbulence, emotional and spiritual turbulence now.

The symbolism has to do with how people "sell" themselves or "degrade" themselves to survive in the world.  Pulling to land sounds like a hopeful sign, that this is not a permanent situation.
