  1. That's kinda like asking, how much is a new car.

It depends on the frame you choose, the lenses you require, the options you want...and where you go.

  2. Why not try online?  You'll save heaps, depending on whether you want brand name or not.  AT www.stingyspecs.com.au, you pay $29AU for their frames, and a complete pair with standard single vision lenses will cost $54AU (that includes the frame), which is 80% cheaper than going regular retail.

My advice is to shop around both at your optom and online to find the frames and lenses that match your budget.

  3. it depends .becos various brand lenses  , like the progressive ones, ordinary ones ,etc, at diffrent price range &the same goes for frames - plastic, glass&metal .choose the frames suitable &stylish for the face &must b comfortable too, also the latest or glass lenses  that r available according to the power&your budget

  4. If you live in England, Specsavers glasses start from £25, but thats with no tints or extras.  If you spend over £75 you can get buy one get one free.  Designer glasses are only £125.

  5. It depends on the strength of the lenses and if you have them thinned out and if you have tints. I had a pair of distance glasses, a pair of reading glasses and a pair of transitions recently and two of the frames were free BUT the bill still came out over £761 because my distance glasses were tinted and all three pairs were thinned out. Transitions lenses alone were £250.

  6. it really depends on where you go but there are some good offers on at the moment.

At specsavers they are doing a 2 for 1 on their glasses. I went recently and got 2 pairs of glasses - one pair with a sunglasses tint for £85 all in.

It depends on what glasses you are looking at - you can get some glasses in specsavers for like £50, nicer glasses around £75-85 and up to like £150.

  7. It depends on where you go.  Mass-market places (i.e. WalMart) will be cheaper than private practices.

Remember, too, that you will be paying for an eye exam as well as frames/lenses.  I went to WalMart and got an eye exam for about $100, then the glasses for about $50.  Lenses will be more expensive depending on type, as well (i.e. bifocal, trifocal, transitions, lightweight, etc.).

I would say that depending on where you go, you can expect to pay anywhere from $150 up to $700.
