  1. 500 Million to 6 Billion. Nuclear power plants are a bad investment.

  2. $37

  3. I wonder what it costs to run one.  The nuclear power plant near me only runs maybe a total of 3 months out of the year (I can see large smoke clouds on the horizon when it's running).  Most of the time it's shut down because it's always failing inspections.  And now the manager, or whatever, has charges against him for not reporting or fixing some stuff that was in bad shape.  I'm just waiting for a melt-down, one of these days, lol.  I know it can't be very profitable, only making electricity for a fraction of a year, and having all the high-paid employees with specialized degrees and all.

  4. Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in Avila Beach, California, is one of the world's best nuclear plants in the world.  In 1988 it was reported as costing $5.5 billion.  Adjusted into today's dollars, that would be about $9.9.

The USSR put together some plants on the cheap, and the result was Chernobyl.  So maybe the bargain plan isn't ideal.  So, let's stick with $9.9 billion.
