Looking for an estimate on what it costs to run power to a building site (maybe on a per foot basis). Not sure how far yet.

  1. In many locations the cost to hook up to the power pole from a house is free, unless you are quite a distance from the nearest line.  In our area (Michigan) rural runs are about $4.00 per foot for underground and 2.60 overhead.  This cost is based on a few years ago, it may have increased because of material costs.  I have included a link to Consumers Power in our area for calculating cost for new service.

  2. try this site out, it helped me

    good luck

  3. depends on your conditions. is it going to be overhead or underground? if underground is it going in a clear path or will you have to have it bored in? most electric companies will give you the first 100 to 200 feet free. you may have to pay for a transformer

  4. Your best bet is to hire a generator, check with a builder.

  5. If your a PSE customor new line is free for the first 250 feet after that it will very on the type of power watts you are running. the best thing to do is call your power company. You can get a elec. contractor but that will most likly cost you more then calling the power company to do it , because the power company is going to have to come out to turn the power off to connect the line and after it is inspected by the county  they will have to turn it back on. So save yourself the trouble and call the power company. I just built a house 2 years ago so I have a pretty good ideal of how it works.
