What does it feel like right before you are put under for surgery?

Basically what i am asking is what does it feel like after you get anestia put in your iv before surgery?

  1. It's pretty weird but the anesthetic works incredibly fast, and you don't feel a thing. It's not really like falling asleep because it's much more of a loss of consciousness. General Anesthesia is descried as a drug induced loss of consciousness.

    You really don't feel anything when it goes into the IV because people are out like light.

    Waking up after anesthetic you'll probably feel groggy and tired and sleep a good deal after wards.

    I had a minor surgery last year and I remember stressing a lot about the anesthetic because the whole idea is so foreign and kind of odd. But really it's not so bad.

  2. It's usually really cold in the operating room.  when the drip comes in, you just start getting groggy and then your eyes get heavy.  You just sleep the rest of the time.  When you wake up you could have a reaction, so they check you for itching and hives.

  3. nothing - you don't feel the anesthetic. it just puts you out very shortly and abruptly.
