I know this sounds strange, but I've had this weird facination since childhood. What does it feel like to be blown off your feet by the wind? Where I live, 20km/h is considered rare, so we don't really know.

  1. i dont really know.. but im curious too..

    where do you live exactly?..

being 20 km rare.. how's that?

  2. where do you live ... why is 20km rare?

  3. it happened to me when I was little and it felt cool for a sec, like flying

  4. I have never been blown off my feet.

I have been blown backwards by the wind.. I was standing on some slippery tiles at the time trying to monitor some wave (working for an emergency services group)

Anyway..  I was leaning as far forward as I could, but it was a real struggle.  Next thing I know I am moving backwards at a fast rate of knots... sliding accross the floor.

I slid for about 40 metres and then slammed into a wall.

The whole time I was thinking "Dont fall over"  and I didnt;  I did it all on my feet...

    It was creepy.

But for an indication of the power of nature, on another day I was out measuring wind speeds, was holding  a pole.  and an entire yacht went flying past me about 10 metres from my head.

I was just outside of that gust... If I was in it I would have been dead.
