What does it feel like to get high?

i was asked once to try pot but i never did... i was i guess scared a lil bit can someone please tell me what it feels like

Marijuana has too much stigma attached to it on both sides.  I'll try to be as truthful and non-biased as possible:

The high you get from marijuana varies on exactly what you're smoking, and who you're smoking with, and how well your body acclimates to marijuana.  Your first time smoking, you will probably not get high.  I don't know why this is, but people typically don't.  Your second time will be an actual trip.

Different types of marijuana are stronger or weaker; some make you feel sleepier; et cetera.  It can be very, very relaxing.

1.  If you're with someone who's naggy or annoying when they're high, they can ruin your trip by making you paranoid.

2.  If you're with people who get 'chill' to the point of not even talking much, you might just fall asleep.

3.  If you're with the rare person who gets a little manic, and you have a similar personality type, you will have a lot of fun.  If not, you're going to be really helplessly irritated by them and they'll ruin your trip.

Some people's bodies just don't take kindly to smoking weed.  If you are one of those people, you'll just have an unenjoyable trip and you'll wake up feeling nasty (ier?).  You won't have to go to the hospital or anything.  

Food is... different.  Better isn't quite the right word.  It's more satisfying.  

Things slow down; there's a sensation of being able to pay attention at the exact moment that you're having a thought, but everything that just happened is in a haze.  There are also 'moments of clarity' where you suddenly don't feel high at all (these usually come after laughing for 20 minutes at a cat rolling over).  

I would say it's a generally low-risk behavior - in my experience, the people that suffer from marijuana use are the ones who put it on a pedestal because it's illegal.  They tend to smoke too much, neglect too much of their lives, and are typically not that smart to begin with.  As for it being a 'gateway drug' - you won't start doing coke unless you want to, trust me.  Each new decision about drugs is a separate and distinct one.  My only word of warning is in combining marijuana with alcohol - if you smoke too much while drinking, you will start to throw up.  Just don't drink to the point of being blackout stumbling and you should be okay.  All things in moderation.

There is no way to accurately describe a "high" you have to experience it. You have two choices that make sense...stop being a baby and smoke the freakin joint..or put it out of your mind completely and forget about it. People hate wishy washy losers more than they hate stoners

It make's you feel happy and funny.

I smoke weed everyday and im also in college.

So it does NOT make you stupid.

Its also almost legal here in Colorado.

But its not really a drug! Its safer than tobacco and alcohol.

Dont be scared, you will probably love it.

Its really fun to do with friends.

when i smoke weed i just sit back and laugh at friends and make jokes.

And eat! Eatting is amazing while stoned.

Every high varies really. Mostly, you just get sleepy and relaxed. Giggles tend to happen as well as mild loss of cordination.

Pot is a really mild high.

it messed my life up

ive been spending all my money on it when i should have been saving for a car.

its a good feeling about life. it makes you think and everything is hilarious and your eyes turn pink to red.

you'll enjoy life but after the high is over you'll regret it alot and you'll start doing it more and more. please take my advice and dont make the same mistake i did.

im barely coming over my addiction of it, yes you can get addicted not physically but mentally you'll want it more and more.

when i first started smoking pot it made ever thing spin in a circle i would get sick and i kept on smoking until it did not do me like that but i had friends it did not do that way to start with i still cant mix it and alcohol together and actually now after many years i don't even like it i moved on to the pain pills and Valiums

This seems to be a sus question. If you do have a toke, I hear that sometimes nothing happens first time. I also am informed that the feelings are strong. They might start with a slight giggle, move on to disembodiment, and for some ppl mild hallucinations with a strong dose. Start slow and don't take more than a couple of hits first and second time. Remember that pot is used by some dealers as a gateway drug to other stuff.

i've heard it feels really cool. my friends from experience have told me that after the first hit, it will never feel the same. those highs are saved and stored for better things later in life. like being married, having a child, or even having s*x. and drugs can take all those feelings and give them to you in a rush that never lasts long enough.
