  1. Some people say it hurts to get them off, but it really doesn't. It's only a little uncomfortable. Afterwards it feels great! They are so slick and smooth against your tongue and inside of your cheeks.

  2. i heard that it doesnt hurt just take advil or somethig before the oppt.

  3. It feels so good, I have had them for over 3 years. I don't know why people say it hurts when the ortho. takes them off, it didn't hurt for me!!!

  4. It feels really weird but good. It hurts a little when they are coming off but afterwords it's really refreshing and if you took care of them well they look GREAT.

  5. It HURTS!!!

    Sorry but here's the truth:

They have to get the glue off of your teeth so they pretty much just scrape it off

then they have to get it out of your gumline, this is why the fun strts.

you will then experience bleeding of the gums and will not be able to spit it out.

then after you get through the bleeding gums section of the operation, they shape your teeth be filing them down a little with a sort of drill.

This and the part where they cut your gums up is pretty bad.

during this you may swallow some of the dust from your teeth and it's pretty nasty stuff.

After this your lips will be stretched out for a few hours and you will either think you teeth are to big or to small, they are not.

you may also have the sensation that without your braces your teeth will fall out, tis also will not happen.

it hurt a little to chew foods after thwey are taken off but not as much as when they were put on. generally the symptoms go away within 3-5 days.

i'm really sorry if your reading this before they are tken off.

    I probably scared.

  6. It does feel weird. But great at the same time.

Your teeth will feel so smooth and straight. It's just weird to get used to not having all that metal all over your teeth. :)

But you'll be happy with your straight teeth.

Edit*- And whoa to the girl with the horror story at the bottom there. They do take the braces off with some force. They use these plier type utensils and yank the braces off. It will feel like heavy pressure put on your teeth. Your teeth should not bleed!!!! I don't know who they went to. Mine never ever bled. After the get the metal off, they do go in and scrape the cement/glue off that attached the brace to the tooth.

Again that doesn't really hurt, but feels like pressure. And it does make a gross scrapy sound.

But please don't have a mental breakdown from that persons story. It's NOT that bad. And you won't bleed. Holy...

  7. Weird since you get used to having this bunch of stuff in your mouth...there's sort of an emptiness but once you see your nice straight teeth it WOW! and you forget about it.

  8. I am the biggest whimp when it comes to pain but when I got mine taken off I was surprised by how much it didn't hurt. It just feels really smooth and wierd after.
