What does it mean, "Christ was slain before the foundation of the world?"?

To me it means that Christ or at least the idea of Christ being the Savior for the world was planned out before God created the world. That would mean that God is still on Plan A! If that's the case, that would mean God wanted sin in the world. Without sin, there is no need for a Savior!

  1. This simply means that in God's foreknowledge he knew the beginning to the end, & therefore he can call Jesus that was not even in existance yet, but only in the mind of God as the lamb slain before the foundation of the world. That is God's foreknowledge.

  2. It was a promise, that if there was sin, there would be a savior- YAHOSHUA. (His name means "YHVH-saved") Since it is not possible for Elohim to lie, it was as good as done.   I don't think the conditional promise implies that YHVH wanted there to be sin.

  3. It means that God already had the plan in his mind to become a man to die for our sins because he knew man would sin.

No, God did not want sin but knew that we would sin. God hates sin.

  4. You are quoting Revelations 13:8, which in the King James Version says "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

But look at it from the translation of the Bible in Basic English to get a context of what "slain from the foundation of the world" means ... "And all who are on the earth will give him worship, everyone whose name has not been from the first in the book of life of the Lamb who was put to death."

Hope that helps to define it for you :)

  5. Is that a Bible quote? Where is that from?
