Does it mean it consumes 25 kW or its output shaft power is 25 kW?

Power consumed by a motor and output shaft power can not be same as there are mechanical losses.

Please give me reference with your answer if possible.

  1. The USA NEMA motor standard requires the horsepower output to be marked on the nameplate. I am certain that the IEC motor standard requires the kW output to be marked on the nameplate, but I have been unable to find a reference to confirm that.

    The NEMA standard is MG1

Here is a source for IEC motors:

“According to IEC 34-1 from 1969 and VDE 0530, the rating plate contains … Rated output in kW”
