  1. Your own context is your perspective on life.  Your perspective is shaped by your gender, race, religion, culture, and personal experience.  This will affect how you see the world and how you interpret life and literature.

What is the context of the "hero" in the novel?  What time period, culture, religion, etc?

How does the context of the hero in the novel differ from your own context?  How does this affect your understanding of the novel?

  2. It may mean the difference and similarities between the novel and your take on it or how you interpret it.

    Hope it helps!
