  1. it means that they are in a soothed and comfortable postion. it means they are happy and filled with love. it also means they need attition and love and care because in some way emotionaly or physically they have been hurt and it is just their way of telling us.

  2. It means a cat is relaxed, comfortable, and is content

but not always.  Some cats will purr when they are extremely hurt, or a mother cat will when she's giving birth.  I suspect that purring is for the most part is used in happy, comfortable times, but when a cat gets stressed, it instinctively purrs as a stress reliever, a much needed outlet for pain, similar to a person who starts laughing uncontrollably when when news is bad.

  3. I don't know. Maybe they're comfy or what? I don't own a cat. Just guessing

  4. it means the cat is happy.

  5. That's mostly a way of showing their affection. They purr when you pet them, you know. My cat loves to be scrached on the belly and neck, and it purrs just to show that it likes it. So next time a kitty, purrs.. it just wants warmth or petting.. :)

  6. It means they are relaxed and content, or they are trying to soothe themselves to sleep.

  7. That they're happy and calm at the moment. :)

  8. cats can purr because they are happy (which is mosly why they do) but they also can purr if they are hurt and trying to soothe themselves
