Am in the state of ohio. Lost our home due to foreclosure, and the house was listed to sheriffs sale this week. Now today, I see that it was canceled along with a few others.

We have received no further notice from the bank, and was wondering what this means. Will the house be listed then with a realtor of the banks cchoosing Will it be up for sale again?

  1. IT MEANS THE HOUSE WAS ALREADY SOLD......... SO MAKE PLANS TO MOVE QUICKLY............

  2. The house has to go through a sheriff’s sale for your bank to actually acquire ownership. They can’t skip that part. I’d call the lender and ask them what’s going on.

  3. It usually means that the lender is stopping foreclosure. A law has recently been signed, and part of it deals with ways to refinance properties that are in, or are nearing, foreclosure.

There is a new FHA loan program to assist with situations like yours.

    Good luck!

  4. There's a hundred reasons why sales are canceled.  Generally it means it must be re-advertised and sold later.
