  1. the government is not doing enough to help him/her.

  2. there are many factors involved when a person is homeless.  There are many I have to say live on the streets by choice, however there are a larger amount of people that live on the streets by the hand of others.  For some it is due to addictions, be it drugs/alcohol that has taken over their life and money, Mental Illness (where they have gone off their meds by choice or due to lack of funds), evictions, runaways.....the list can go on.  For most of these people it is the only way they have learned to live and have found their comfort zone and also prefer the simple living

  3. It's just an unfortunate outtake!

Lack of commitment, obliviously. He/she must not care very much. Until he/she truly wants to be employed or  living in a certified home that's when they will.

  4. Tough luck or laziness

  5. It could be their personality and way of thinking isn't wired in such a way that allows them to live successfully in today's modern society. They live for the moment and don't plan for the worst as most of us do, but the only difference is they have something else undefinable within their makeup that doesn't allow them to bounce back.

I have relatives that fit this description and find they just can't cope with the complexity's of living in modern society and often make bad decisions that lead them to homelessness or close to it or cause them to move back in with family.

Many of these type of folks go through life with undiagnosed mental and neurological problems that are hard to detect by their friends, family and coworkers.

Some of which include certain spectrums of autism, personality disorders, anxiety, narcolepsy and manic depression to name a few. And some may have sustained in their early developing years low impact head injuries that were never looked after that adversely affect cognitive thinking later in life. They look and act normal but something's missing and you can't put your finger on it. Most just blow them off as being lazy no accounts which doesn't help, change or improve anything.

  6. Either they don't work / they don't pay rent / bad investments to not pay rent / just lazy / sore luck / the bank manager hates them /  the Credit Crunch is effecting their ablity to pay / negative equity forces to sell / they keep moving home, thus losing their old home.

Many reasons, they were some i just thought of at random, i could come up with many many more.
