My girlfriend is in the middle of a sinus infection and has been running a temp of 99 to 100.1 degrees. After getting some medication and resting the thermometer is reading 97.6 degrees? Is this even possible? If so, what does it mean?

  1. Its perfectly normal.  That's what my body temperature is all the time.  Everybody's different.  Also you will get a different temperature reading depending on where you take the temperature.

  2. She is getting better due to the medication. It is nothing to be alarmed about. Also, a temperature of 99-100.1 isn't much of  a temp it is called low grade.

  3. well its a good thing the average temp is around 98 i think so all she needs now is a get-well soon present from her boy friend :p tell her she will be fine.

  4. it means you are at normal temperature

  5. All normal...no need to worry.

  6. Means nothing, only that the infection is getting better and when completely healed will go back to normal reading of 98.6. Some people even carry low grade temperatures, below normal, nothing to be concerned about.

  7. That is a good thing.  It means her fever is breaking.  Sit back and relax.  Some people, like myself, have a normal temp of about 97.1 or so.  It's cool...hope she is feeling better :)

  8. you know, weird but true... when I'm sick my temp is always that. Have no idea why and always wanted to know. But, I'm still kicking at 32, so I'm sure she's fine :)

  9. 97.6 is possible.  For some people that is their normal body temperature.  That is a normal temperature for my daughter and I so when then thermometer reads 98.6 we actually have a fever.  Your friend is on the mend so that is good.  I have heard to take your temperature three times and find the average temperature.  I am glad she is on the mend.  Sinus infections really hurt.
