  1. From the C-Net web site

"Downside: Unlike more-expensive sets, the HL-P5063W lacks both an HDTV tuner and a CableCard slot, so you'll need a set-top box if you want to watch HDTV or digital cable".

The HL-P5063W has a high native resolution of 1,280x720, which means it should be able to display every pixel of 720p. The connectivity suite is ample, with an HDMI port, a DVI port, a VGA input, and two component-video inputs. Unlike some LCD-based rear-projection TVs, the HL-P5063W is also designed to accept computer signals.

Translation- You must buy your own Digital TV tuner or get a cable box. The TV will accept a video input.  You must provide the TV signal and convert it to video with an external device that you buy or rent, then the set will display it. It is a 720p monitor.

  2. yes it will. i have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, it has both a DIGITAL convertor in it and an HDMI hook up. You have everything you need.
