Me and my husband are trying to have a baby. I haven't have a period since the beinging of june. I feel all of the symptums of a pregnant women!! The first blood test I had (6/29) came back at a level 5(positvie). Then I took another blood test (8/12) came back as a 1. I haven't had to pain or bleeding so there was no misscarage. and my mom had a period for 4 months with my sister. My cousin didn't find out that she was pregent until she was 5 months and she had blood tests before. Could i still be pregnant?

  1. I would say it is most likely a missed miscarriage, which means the baby is dead but will not pass on its own requiring a D&C. There is no reason for your HCG levels to be declining if you are pregnant they should actually be doubling like every other day.

  2. level 5 is not classed as pregnant a normal women can have a level of 5 and a menopausal women can have a level of 9.

True levels are 25 and over to determine a pregnancy,

  3. I'm so sorry... I know the heartbreak you are probably feeling right about now.  I have to agree with the last answer, though: there is no reason for your HCG to drop other than an impending miscarriage.  When the results came back from your second blood test, didn't your doctors office make an appointment for you?  The next step should be an ultrasound, to get a visual of what is going on in there, assuming you don't start to bleed.  I feel so sad for you, and wish you the very best of luck.
