  1. whats the temperature in the tank ? my bettas tend to act like that when the temp is either to high or to low 70F to 82F is an ideal temperature range for bettas. if the temp drops below 70 or gets above 85 thats when they tend to act that way.

if its not the temp it may be sick look for a white cotton like film on your fish it could be a fungal infection. if it is a hospital tank and melafix should heal that up in about 10 days. just as long as you find out what the problem is soon enough to cure it

one last thing if it is not temperature or fungus check your nitrate and amonia levels this could be the cause of your sluggish betta fish and a water change may be in need.

  2. It's normal

  3. It's very normal. Mine does that too. They're just lazy, shy and peaceful fish. It's nothing really unusual. So you and your fishy are fine. =]

  4. He's normal, unless he shows signs of sickness, i.e. Frayed fins, white spots on body, scars or brownish yellow spots. My Betta does the same thing in his 45 G tank so unless there are symptoms, don't worry.

  5. It could be normal, but take this as a warning sign. Watch your betta very carefully from now on and always check for signs of illness. Check for:

-White spots (looks like salt on the fish)

    -Fins rotting

-Bloating/Scales Sticking Out (like a pincone)

Betta's are naturally lazy, so they do seem to chill out at the bottom of the tank.

One more thing can be your tank is too hot. If your tank is very warm, betta's might stay on the bottom in an attempt to cool down.

    Thanks!
