There is a handy chart.

Basically cousins, 2nd cousins etc... are in the same place in generations (cousins have same grandparents, 2nd cousins have same great grandparents, etc...) When a cousin or 2nd cousin or whatever has a child, THAT person is "removed" from you. Because you are unequal in the generations now.

your ousin twice removed is your 2 generations back from your cousin. That would mean their grandparents. Three times removed? Your cousins great grandparents and so on

Once removed you go to your dad and mom's cousins...twice removed is your grandparents cousins.
