  1. If you belive in Omens, it means there is going to be a huge tragedy and a lot of people will DIE... HINT:  If any RAVENS join them... then you may want to pack up and leave the area

  2. Crows fly in a "Murder", not a c**p load -LOL, jk!  -But I know what you mean ;)

Are you sure they are crows, and not grackles?  Grackles are notorious for doing what you described, but they usually move on after a while.  They are black -w/ almost a green sheen to them, they are a little smaller than crows, and if you look closely they have bright yellow eyes.  They sound like crows, though.  However, both are herbivores/scavengers -meaning that when they aren't eating nuts, seeds, and/or veggies of some sort, they eat the carrion of animals that are already dead.  Typically, these birds will fly around together looking for food, as they are very social w/ one another.

Despite the association of crows w/ death, gloom, and peskiness to cornfields, they are actually very lucky birds -especially when they land on or near your house.  Whatever you do, never deliberately torment or kill a crow, as it is very bad luck.  If you want to merely shoosh them away, there is nothing wrong w/ that.  -And not to worry, they won't attack you!

Personally, I have a lot of respect for crows, b/c they are 'working-class' birds who don't get a lot of respect, but they keep on keeping on in order to survive.

Update:  Grackles are easygoing as well.  They do make a lot of noise, but they usually move on pretty quickly.  Like w/ crows, there is no danger in you walking outside and waving a towel or something just to shoosh them away.

  3. they will not leave unless you act like a scarecrow... =)

  4. Did you ever see Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" ?  Heee hee!

    Just kidding.

There is obviously a good food source nearby, or it's breeding season for them, or some young birds from nests close by, have just fledged.

Do not worry about Crows.  They are wonderful, beautiful birds, and very intelligent too.  They are among the smartest of all birds.  They are curious and inquisitive and playful.  They will not hurt you in any way.

Crows are a great benefit to our planet and help keep it healthy.  They love being around human populations and evidentally make a real success of living amongst us.  They help clean up our trash and keep the roads free of dead animals that have been hit by our cars.

PS - garrison is a nin-com-p**p.  Do NOT believe any of that c**p.

  5. Your area is a habitat to them

Or they just like you and get along with you just fine :]

  6. theres food,
