  1. 8 It means that you have reached nearvana and are expressing the opinion just to let it go.

  2. It means you don't have enough personal power (inner and outer) to generate thoughts that are powerful enough to be of consequence.  Consequence meaning "of relevance to the world at large".  If your self-identity is limited to yourself as a lone, islolated individual, alienated from others, your thoughts and opinions will reflect only a very narrow aspect of reality, will be about only the shallowest aspect of yourself, and will be of little use to anyone.

  3. Everybody has an opinion. The only ones that have consequence are those who get pro-active and do something about their opinion.

  4. Mind over matter. I don't mind because it don't matter.

  5. it means you could be one of the people on this site who have asked "what is the meaning of life".

  6. Why does it have to mean anything? What is important is what you think and feel, and it doesn't matter what others think. Do you need to have an effect on others and the world, like a sounding board or you won't know you exist? Why?

  7. It didn't/doesn't have the desired affect. Usually used when the argument or opinion had no impact either way, positive or negative.

Suppose during a conversation you raised your objections or opinions, rather than taking notice, and either rejecting or accepting your arguments, or at least acknowledging them.

No visible signs were given, in other words you can say, didn't give a second thought or your opinion didn't matter enough to be considered. It didn't have any bearing on the conversation or the situation.

. . . . ie It seems your opinions are of no consequence. I think you should put tour foot down and make your views known.

  8. Powerless

    Impotent

    Ineffecutal

    Out of the loop

    Not respected by others

    Unheard

    Outranked

  9. There is an audience for your opinions and whether others react to it in your presence and to your satisfaction is beyond your control. Don't forget unspoken opinions, like body language and shared history--there is so much more to communication than what comes out verbally. Not only are there consequences to communicating, but there are rewards, too. These changes can't be measured immediately.

  10. You have just answered a question on Yahoo Answers. ;-)

or, look at it this way.  If you opine that chanting the magic phrase "Up, up, and away" while leaping from a building will keep you from falling to the ground; then gravity effectively makes your opinion of no consequence.  But that is merely in the outcome, your opinion is of consequence concerning your (or anyone else's, you might be able to sway) likelihood of leaping from said building!

  11. It means you have an opinion.

  12. It depends on the context.  If someone who is a recognized authority tells you your opinion is of no consequence it might be because he has discovered an error in your thinking.  If someone is telling you all opinions are of no consequence, he must mean that only knowledge matters.  If someone tells you all opinions are of no consequence and there is no such thing as knowledge then he is just contradicting himself.
