What does it mean in a legal agreement that neither party relies on the statement of the other party?

actually is says statement, representation legal opinion or promise of the other party. I think is intended to prevent the opposing party to be abl to set the agreement aside in the event of fraud.

  1. it means it agrees you did your own research no matter what they told you.

    personally, i would run screaming from anyone that presented me a contract with such a clause. they are setting up a cya, buyr beware defense before the contract is even signed.

    tell 'em to get lost.


  2. that you only go by what is written in the contract, not any verbal promises made by the parties (make sure you have any agreement in writing)  because later even if you have a recording of them saying something else it's no good.

  3. Putting the statement is context would help.  In general, it means what the parties SAY means nothing.  What the CONTRACT says is the only thing that matters.
