  1. means he made almost a perfect swing from start to finish which happens more often with the pros and amateurs

  2. The slot is another term for a golfer (we'll say that he or she is right handed) getting their right elbow tucked into their side on the downswing. That is called being in the slot. All the best golfers in the world are able to get in the slot on just about every shot. It basically helps you to square the club face at impact.

  3. Most average or worse players initiate the downswing with the upper body and the hands and thus club are forced "over the top."  A good player initiates the downswing with the lower body and the club drops to the inside or otherwise known as the "slot".

  4. If you have seen a lot of good golfers (not 10 handicaps), you will see a lot of different swings. But if you pay attention about 1/2 way down the swing most all of them are have their controlling elbow tucked, and then go threw releasing  their wrist through impact. That was what is referred to as being in the slot.
