Question:

What does it mean on a college academic calendar when it says the first 7 weeks end, & the next 7 weeks begin?

New to college things: While looking at a community college academic calendar, it said on one date that the first 7 weeks end, and a date when the second 7 weeks begin. What is it supposed to mean ? Is it just literally informing you that the first seven weeks have ended, and the next are to come ? Is it when one set of classes end and the next begin ?

Help is appreciated, and thanks ahead of time.

  1. I go to that same college, and know that the Dean of Psychedelic Management has a gerbil that is due to deliver its young in 14 weeks.  You're supposed to send a card at the end of the first seven weeks and bake a cake at the end of the second seven weeks.

  2. My local community college operates on a sixteen week schedule.

7 weeks of class, 1 week of spring break,

another 7 weeks of class and 1 week of finals.

This is known as the first and second session.

Most classes run the full term (1st and 2nd session).

However, some students take the opportunity to complete a class

in the first session and take *another* class in the second session.

(I'll be doing exactly that with Accounting Principles I & II).

    Good luck in your studies,
