What does it mean when people in volleyball yell "sideout"?

  1. its like when the other team is serving the ball and you try to stop them from serving by getting a point..


  2. Definition: A sideout occurs when the receiving team successfully wins the rally against the serving team.

    Or

    Sideout: Change of service when a serving team has failed to score a point.  Occurs when the receiving team successfully puts the ball away against the serving team, or when the serving team commits an unforced error.
