What does it mean "I work for you"?

I recently let a guy know that I was interested in more than just friendship, the next day he said, "I work for you". I repeated it back questioning, and he repeated it back to me.

it  means that he has enough sense to not get involved with his boss at work

Do you work together ?   Are you his superior ?

If you are, than he meant he works for you and probably not a good idea.

If you don't work with him, it means he will do whatever you want.
