We arrive in Frankfurt from Innsbruck using Austrian air .This is on a Tuesday at 6pm.

Do we have to depart the airport to then reenter to leave 2 hrs later on Singapore air to Singapore?

Would staff at Innsbruck be able to book luggage on to the Singapore flight? Will we have enough time?

  3. If it is the same airport that you are flying from then you do not have to leave the airport.  Ask at the check in at Innsbruck to book your luggage straight to Singapore and you will fing it there when you land.

  4. That means that you'll not leave the airport. Just stay there an than you'll go from one plain to the other. Your luggage will be brought to the other plain from the guys at the airport. Thats just normal.

You'll have enough time for sure.

  5. It is better, with 2hrs, to be in transit.

It means you won't enter Germany at all.

You will go to a special waiting hall and then board to Singapore.  You will avoid all the hassle of checkpoints and revisions.  About luggage, ask at Innsbruck, but probably they will be checked all the way to Singapore.

  6. In transit means you are just changing aircraft at Frankfurt.  Your luggage will be booked through to Singapore and you do not see it at Frankfurt.  In transit means you stay 'airside' therefore you do not need to check in for the Singapore flight as this should be done at Innsbruck. Vist duty free, get a coffee and then make your way to the gate for Singapore flight.
