What does it mean to become 'one' with something or someone?

  1. It means that you are the 'same' thing or very similar or in sync.

    So if you become 'one' with mother nature it involves you going camping and getting back to basics. Or even more extreme it would mean you talking to mother nature etc.

    If you become 'one' with your inner child it would be about getting back to the playful side of yourself and relaxing and remembering life is meant to be fun.

    To be 'one' with someone would be to love them completley and that you and them are basically one person.

    So the saying one-in-the-same refers to two things being almost exactly the same, say like if your bitching about two people that you dislike for the same reason you would say 'they are one-in-the-same' or if you were talking about similar fruits eg- oranges and mandarins you could say they are 'one-in-the-same'.
