I want to be a preschool teacher. What kind of education do I have to do? Massachusetts is my state if that matters

  1. Here in Ohio all you need is a high school diploma or GED to work in a day care. To be actually trained and get better paying jobs, you need at least a 2 if not 4 yr degree in an Early Childhood Ed program at a college. You can start out with getting a CDA credential, this is training and on-the-job experience in a day care setting. This can get you the start you need w/o devoting a ton of money getting a degree and not really wanting to teach preschool. (cause you find out the pay is not there)

  2. you need your ECE from a college first and then you can go and work in a daycare. You need to go and work in a daycare for  at least 600 hours for school before you can work in a daycare. It is fun love work in a daycare now and i love it i have been in daycares for over 15 years.
