What does it mean to block?

I looked in the Yahoo community guidelines, but I couldn't find an answer.

When you run the Mouse over the persons avatar it will come up "Add to contacts" or "Block" and you can block the person so they cant see what you do I guess.  I do not use any of them but have seen it when i am on yahoo.  Hope this helps

She blocks everyone, don't worry about her and a few others just post to hear them selves rattle on, her opinion are all that counts I think they are all in one same person different accounts, She is a Republican and   does not believe we have our freedom of speech I would not answer her if she ever unblocks me again

as in on AIM or MSN....well that means to make it so that person cannot talk to you at all. they cant contact you

You would block a person by running the mouse over their avatar and clicking on the red block dot. You would do this if they were using  sexually explicit language, foul language or being down right rude. It means they could not answer your questions. I have never used it, and hopefully I never will. Good Question.

when you click a person profile on top of their avatar  that say to add this person with a + sign  and the to block is a red dot.

That means the person cannot access anything of yours

To block someone means to stop them from answering any of your questions, Olive. Not everyone in Answers "plays nice", and if someone is giving you a hard time, you have the option to block them. Or occasionally you'll come across someone who likes to block people "just because". It's kind of like a game to them.

Anyway, I've only used the block once or twice and that was a long time ago. For the most part, I've just learned to ignore the members who want to be rude or show their attitudes.

But if you feel the need to block someone....click on their avatar and it will bring you to their profile page. Up where their level and points info' is will be a red ball that says block user. Just click on it and the deal is done. You can always go back and unblock the person, too.

simple when you block some one they can not reply at your emails -- email you or answer your questions -- strictly my opinion but i think they should do away with it -- it is a way for thin skin folks to hide behind a barrier!!
