its that little area in front of the stage where people can stand and mosh depending on the band. so its really so people and get a closer look at the band. you could possibly get them online from free classified ad places like http://www.stumblehere.com for cheap. i usually get the pit tickets because the of the type of atmosphere it gives.

It comes from "Orchestra pit" - right up the front.
