we are the adoptive parent of one child and the second one has his rights terminated and reliqueshed. It is the foster family that wants to contest the adoption,

  1. If you mean that the natural parents are contesting, then the parents are wanting to raise their child. If you are the nparent, then you better get yourself a good lawyer.  Be prepared to pay child support to the prospective adoptive parents.  Be prepared to go above and beyond.  You will be tested to the limit.


  2. It means that they don't think the adoption should go through and they will challenge it

It means that someone is filing an intervention, as a party to the suit to adopt (yours), and will petition the court to consider them as adoptive parents.  If the child was placed with you by the agency that also placed the child with them then likely you will prevail, all things being equal.

  4. It means they are oppossed to the adoption.  A court date will be set, and the judge will make rules that both sides have to comply with.  The judge will review the request and determine if the family contesting is fit to raise the child, and they will also determine if your family is fit to raise a child.  They will determine what the best interest of the child is.
