What does it mean to dream of a boat?

Question

I dreamt I was in a boat w/ someone I think.I was quite happy out at sea.I had nearly everything i owned on the boat.I went off land for a bit came back and the boat was completely gone,i looked everywhere for it.

Some storm or something had happened the whole boat had capsized.I found it at some place wrecked covered in blankets

a authority/person in charge came to give me my stuff,a pink photoalbum and two guitars i told him none of this was my stuff.

Easy enough.

The boat represents something that holds your hopes and dreams. In this case it is a child. Makes sense?

The person you were possibly with was your husband. The child being the boat is rather ironic (but what dream isn't these days) as instead of you carrying the baby, the baby is carrying you. This is symbolic as a child will someday carry on your hopes and dreams for you.

When you went off land you went to a safe place (ground=safe). What's a safe place in reality? A hospital, bomb shelter, or police station.

By this point I'm sure you've caught on. When you've returned and couldn't find the boat, that means the baby had gotten in an accident. However because it was wrapped in blankets means it is dead.

The authority/person giving you stuff... those are your child's stuff.

Now what does this all mean? That's for you to decide. I'd tell you my personal opinion, but only if ya want to hear it.

The sea is a place where people give you some space and do not hassle you.

I think this means that you are going to go on a journey soon, a change in your life, and a lot of familiar things in your life are going to be risked or lost.  A lot of new things, though, are going to come into your life to take their place.

I'm no pro, and honestly, there's no assurance that the dream means anything at all, but that's what I picked up from this. The boat means a big journey or change, and losing all your thins directly because of that boat seems to me like this journey is going to take a turn for the worst and take away a lot form your life. The authority person gave you things that weren't yours, so that could symbolize new experiences, lessons, and people that are going to make the journey worthwhile.

I don't know any of those silly by-the-book symbolisms, because I think that entities of a dream should not be broken down and automatically connected to what some hippy website says, but instead looked at as a whole and given one  big message.
