  1. To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you.  Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. The snake may also be seen as phallic and thus symbolize dangerous and forbidden sexuality. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive changes.

Snakes have quite a complicated and varied symbolism. It can suggests feelings of deviousness, self-renewal, or temptation.  In this regard, the overall theme of your dream relates to an increase in your sexuality or your ambivalence/struggles with sexual issues.

The overall tone of your dream is that of helplessness. You seem reluctant in confronting your unconscious feelings and thoughts. The snakes in your dream symbolize primal energy, temptation, and evil. These are the thoughts and feelings you may be trying to suppress. In constantly suppressing your feelings, over time it will overflow to the point where you are forced to confront them. As you set forth on this path, you find that your future is in jeopardy in some way. Your dream may be an invitation for you to explore your unconscious and not to be afraid of what there is to learn about yourself.

It may be a way to call attention to a matter in your unconscious that needs to emerge and be acknowledged at once. Specifically snakes represent primal energy, temptation and evil. These may be the thoughts that are in your unconscious in which you do not want to face. This notion suggests something of value that is out of reach. In other words, you need to confront and address those feelings that you are suppressing; in doing so, you will have a better understanding of yourself. You were forced to confront thoughts and feelings from your unconscious.

Snakes are complicated dream symbols and have both positive and negative meanings. In your case, it is a positive symbol suggesting changes and self-renewal. You are obviously ready to move on toward the future and no longer want to relive the past.

Snakes are symbolic of different things. In writing about Snake Symbolism, Gillian Holloway, Ph.D. wrote, "People who are dying or who have lost a loved one often dream of snakes, at or near the time of death. Carl Jung talks about a similar connection between earth and heaven in his discussion on the snake as a symbol for medicine. Snakes are also seen as symbols representing evil. Recurring dreams indicate a fear or an unresolved issue. You will have to look at your dream in its entire context and determine how you felt about the snakes in the dream. It would depend on the association you had with the dream. If the snake withered and died after it bit you then it could be a dream of a sexual nature replicating the male o****m.

  2. Depends what you associate with snakes IMO

  3. That is assuming it means anything. Perhaps something in your life is causing you some anxiety--whether that be something serious like marital problems or just a minor but long-term concern, such as a coworker who annoys you--and your dreaming mind invented a scenario to help you release some of that anxiety. People have always been afraid of snakes, it's built in to us, so that's a pretty natural outlet for that anxiety.

Personally I've noticed that snake-related dreams often relate to morally inappropriate sexual situations; might that mean anything to you?

As a suggestion, though, if you're looking for a more symbolic meaning, you're probably better off posting in the Dream Interpretation category, where people who know about dream symbolism will be able to see it, instead of people who deal with real snakes. :)
