What does it mean to focus?

For example, I had a math teacher that said I needed to focus.

Basically you need to pay complete attention in what you're doing (in maths). When the teacher is explaining somehting, try to understand what he/ahe is saying, rather than daydreaming.

Try to do the question on the board as the teacher does it, this will not only help you in maths but if you make a mistake you will catch it fast aswell.
