  1. The layered look with just give your hair a little volume, it means that your hair is a few different lengths. If you get it razered it will give it some texture at the tips of your hair so it won't be straight across at the ends. It sounds dumb but it'll look cute....

  2. if you have fine/thin hair I would not suggest using a razor at all. You can get layers but I'll tell you this now that if you have shoulder length or longer hair, do not get short layers because it will thin out the very bottom layer and make it seem even thinner. stick with medium to long layers.

A razor can either be used to thin out hair, or i sometimes use it on the very ends of the hair to make it kinda whispy. Layers are just short pieces of hair then what your actual length is.

  3. That would be a judgment call made by a stylist.  Some fine/thin hair shouldn't be razored.

  4. I have my hair razored and layered and it's also fine. I got my mom's super fine whispy asian hair. Layering is a technique of cutting the hair so that it's different lengths. It gives you more volume so it's excellent for hair like ours. Also razored means that they are using a razor to cut (usually just the front) of your hair instead of regular scissors that cause a blunt end. I got my hair cut like this recently http://fs1.us.cyworld.com/data1/2007/07/... and I absolutely love it. It's razored and layered. When I told my stylist that people had told me that people with fine hair aren't supposed to get it razored she said that they don't know what they're talking about and must not know how to do it right. I think it turned out great.
