  1. Good question!

Fear is an occurrence in the organism, a reaction to inner or outer stimuli. There is essentially only Fear, not various kinds of fear. The appearance of a multiplicity of fears comes about through the ability of the mind to generalize and associate. Through generalization, our concepts of death have influenced our natural survival instincts, and from drive for survival we have moved to fear of death. Again, through generalization, we have extended mere survival of the body to a specific kind of survival involving a certain life-style.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

  2. Fear it is a warning mechanism within our selves that helps us to avoid injury , whether physical or mental. It is a good indicator of where we are in a spiritual sense. To be fearful in an situation that you have not been in is a good thing, to be fearful of a repeating issues is a phobia. If fear comes upon you for no outside reason it is anxiety. To release your fears takes faith and a stong spiritual commitment to God. Breathing deep and calm can ease your fears.

  3. I would agree the to most answers here.

That Fear is an action-emotion towards the externalities.

Also there is also a healthy/unhealthy or rational and irrational fear.

Imagine At start Man never experienced Fear (and Never will); And that man needs to cross the hi-way for the first time- Consequently because of lack of Fear, lack of precautions is prominent; therefore saying that without fear Man wouldn't predict/react to dangers properly.

Also another is that Man is known to be Terrified/Fear Ghost,Aliens,Demons,Death or such because of lack of understanding - I would interpret this myself by saying that Man Fear what he doesn't know/understand

  4. Fear is an emotional response to threats and danger. Fear should be distinguished from anxiety, which typically occurs without any external threat. Additionally, fear is related to the specific behaviors of escape and avoidance, whereas anxiety is the result of threats that are perceived to be uncontrollable or unavoidable.[2] Fear is often connected to pain (e.g. some fear heights because if they fall, they may suffer severe injury or even die upon landing). Many theorists, such as Watson and Ekman, have suggested that fear is one of several basic, innate emotions (e.g. joy and anger). Fear is a survival mechanism, and usually occurs in response to a specific negative stimulus.

  5. According to Buddhism, there is unhealthy fear and healthy fear. For example, when we are afraid of something that cannot actually harm us – such as spiders – or something we can do nothing to avoid – such as old age or being struck down with smallpox or being run over by a truck – then our fear is unhealthy, for it serves only to make us unhappy and paralyze our will. On the other hand, when someone gives up smoking because they are afraid of developing lung cancer, this is a healthy fear because the danger is real and there are constructive steps they can take to avoid it.

We have many fears-fear of terrorism, fear of death, fear of being separated from people we love, fear of losing control, fear of commitment, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of losing our job, the list is never-ending! Many of our present fears are rooted in what Buddha identified as “delusions” – distorted ways of looking at our self and the world around us. If we learn to control our mind, and reduce and eventually eliminate these delusions, the source of all our fear, healthy and unhealthy, is eradicated.
