  1. basically it mean 2 pound the ball as hard as physically possible !!! the most important thing 2 hit a heavy ball is 2 hit the ball with the right part of your hand !!! u should contact the ball with the lower part of ur palm near the start of your thumb !!! GooD LucK

  2. A heavy ball has lots of topspin and when you try to bump it or overhand pass it up, it feels a lot heavier than a regular volleyball hit.

There are not many people that can do that often, but usually if a person can do it, they can do it consistantly.  I certainly can not do it consistantly, but I know it deals with topspin.

  3. Hitting a heavy ball means to hit the ball with a lot of pace and power.  It doesn't have any float to it, nor any arch, which would both reduce it's heaviness.  In order to perform this kind of hit, it requires the perfection of all hitting techniques...arm swing has got to be fast; you have to hit on top of the ball, pulling it down once it has crossed the net; of course, you have to be able to jump high enough in order to reduce the arch of the ball; you have to snap and follow through so that you put spin on the ball; and you have to learn your timing of when to start your approach in connection with the ball, as well as when to jump, and lastly, at what point to contact the ball not only in your swing, but the balls  height in the air.

The only way to accomplish learing how to hit a heavy ball is to practice it, just don't overdue it, you could end up with an injury.  Take it in steps, and when you are ready, put all the steps together. Oh, and it of course helps to hit the weights.  You don't have to be the strongest person, but it does give you an advantage of power.
