I was looking colleges up on the internet when I saw a school that offered a major in the before mentioned field and I have no idea what it is.

  1. Life sciences have to do with human or animal life.  Unlike Chemistry, Earth Science or physics, which are more related to study of non-living forces and matter.

Life sciences may be biology, zoology, botony, and certainly Ecological sciences.

Technology would involve all the measuring instruments, microscopes, scales, and computer software, or analytical equipment used by modern science in doing their jobs.

    Does this make sense?

The "technologist" may operate, or repair such equipment, and may not actually perform the experiments using that equipment.
