  1. That is your cruise control button.  (There is usually a light or symbol on the dash that illuminates when you are using it)

When driving someplace and you are going to be traveling at the same speed for a long time ( IE: highway/expressway) you can hold the accellerator in one place, and press that button.  When it sets, you can lift your foot off the pedal and the vehicle will continue to travel at that speed unless you step on the brakes.  Or use the speed-up/slow-down controls.

City driving... you really don't need to use the cruise control.

After you tap on the brakes, in some vehicles, the light will stay on until you press the button again.  That would be used, for instance, if you needed to momentarily slow down or speed up knowing that as soon as the traffic smoothes out you can get it going again easily.

Also, the idea is you are not speeding up alot... so you save gas.

  2. press the gas to the desired speed you want the car to go ..then press the cruise button ..that will let you take your foot off the gas and the car will stay that speed till you press the break or disengage the cruise mode. it is a good way to stay a cedrtain speed on interstates so you don't get the led foot and get a ticket.. just set it and ride ..

  3. Cruise control is a device that allows your cars computer to maintain a desired speed.

You turn the device on (a symbol will appear on the dashboard), accelerate to the desired speed and then press "set". At that point you can take your foot off the accelerator and the car will maintain the desired speed.

Some cruise controls also allow finger touch acceleration for passing and memory features

  4. It's cruise control. It lets you set your speed on the highway say at 55 mph. So you stay at that speed without needing to accelerate. All cars are different so read the manual on your car

  5. it keps the car at whatever speed its on when you press it without having to press the gas. good for long trips on a highway. you can override it with the brakes so its safe

  6. while your on the highway or something and your sick making sure you driving at the right speed press the cruise button when your at the speed you want and you can take your foot off the pedal and the car will stay at that speed whitout you having to push the pedal. There should also be buttons to raise or drop your speed. To turn it off just press the break alittle.

  7. Once you get on the HWY speed, you hit that button and the computer will maintain the speed (get off the gas).

On many cars, they only work above certain speeds (40 MPH on my car).

    Good Luck...

  8. You get up to your desired speed and press the cruise button. Your car will continue to go that speed until you press the brake. It's mostly for use on the highway where there's no red lights or stop signs- although you can use it anywhere. It's a convenience.

  9. It makes it so that if your driving long distances or whatever you dont have to leave your foot on the acceleration the whole time. You get your car up to the speed you want it at, then you usually press that button and the gas pedal will hold itself down, to cut it off you just press the break.

  10. You use that to set a speed setpoint.  The car will travel that speed.  It'll manage the accelerator itself.

  11. You push that button at the speed you want to cruise at and the car will hold that speed without you having to push on the gas pedal.  For long freeway driving.  Good for getting optimal mileage.

  12. keeps the car at the same speed at which you are driving at.
